Agrimony

Agrimony, Agrimona eupatoria, has been used for centuries in both folk healing and protection magick. Native to the grassy fields of Europe and a member of the rose family, its name holds two layers of history: Agrimonia, derived from the Greek word for plants believed to heal the eyes and Eupatoria, after King Mithridates Eupator, famed for his herbal remedies.

Traditional Uses

Agrimony is best known as a reversal and protection herb. Used to break hexes and curse or send negative energy back to its source. It's a go to for:

• Uncrossing and banishing baneful work
• Home protection (sprinkle at doorways, windows and your home's perimeter)
• Cleansing baths. Add to ritual baths for uncrossing 
• Putting an end to gossip
• Sleep magick. Folklore holds that if placed beneath a sleepers head, they won't wake until it's removed

Historically, Agrimony was also used in traditional herbalism for digestive complaints and throat inflammation. One of many reasons it earned a reputation as a "healing" herb.
